Rule of the One: Avicenna, Bahmanyār, and al-Rāzī on the Argument from the Mubāḥathāt.Davlat Dadikhuda - 2020 - Nazariyat, Journal for the History of Islamic Philosophy and Sciences 6 (2):69-97.
Avicenna is a strong proponent of what some of the later ones call qāʻidat al-wāḥid or ‘rule of the one’ (RO). The gist of RO states: from the one only one directly proceeds. In the secondary literature, discussion of this Avicennian rule is usually limited to a particular application of it i.e., the issue of emanation. As result, it’s not really clear what RO means, nor why Avicenna endorsed it. In this paper, I try and remedy this situation by doing (...)

    Not So Ridiculous.Davlat Dadikhuda - 2019 - Oxford Studies in Medieval Philosophy 7 (1).
This chapter explicates a distinctive argument that Avicenna offers for the existence of nature as a causal power in bodies. In doing that, the author shows the argument has two main targets: the Aristotelian tradition on the hand, who thought that the existence of nature, as an intrinsic principle of movement, was self-evident, and the Ash ͑arite occasionalist theological tradition on the other, who were anti-realists about all creaturely efficacious power, locating all efficacy instead in an extrinsic transcendent agent. The (...)

Birden Bir Çıkar Ne Demek? İbn Sîn', Behmeny'r ve Fahreddin er-R'zî’ye Göre Müb'has't’taki Bir Kuralı.Davlat Dadikhuda - 2020 - Nazariyat, Journal for the History of Islamic Philosophy and Sciences 6 (2):67-94.
